Idanim, India’s first and only free meditation app, has experienced explosive growth since going subscription-free, with monthly downloads soaring to an impressive 40,000, and daily meditating users increasing 3 times. This pioneering meditation and mental wellness app is on track to reach nearly 1 million downloads by the end of the year.
The app’s user base reflects a diverse demographic: approximately 40% are college and university students, 55% are working adults, and the remaining users are primarily senior citizens. While many users hail from Tier 1 cities like Delhi and Mumbai, there has been a notable uptick in engagement from Tier 2 and 3 cities such as Surat and Nagpur.
Idanim’s remarkable growth has been bolstered by endorsements from prominent figures including Swami Mukundananda, MoojiBaba, CyberZeel, Gunjan Taneja, and Upen Verma. The app’s live streaming feature with its meditation teachers, including ex-monks, have played a crucial role in expanding Idanim’s reach and impact.
Raman Mittal, Co-founder of Idanim and a renowned meditation teacher, shared his reflections on this achievement: “Our mission at Idanim has always been to make meditation a part of everyday life for every individual. By removing the financial barrier, we have opened the doors for many more people to experience the benefits of meditation. It’s heartening to see the positive response and the growing number of users who are finding peace and mindfulness through our app.”
Idanim’s user surveys highlight several unique and popular features, including the “Learn to Meditate” category for beginners, meditations on Yoga Nidra, Sleep, Chakra, and Om, as well as content in Hindi. The daily free LIVE meditation sessions are a standout feature, making Idanim the only app globally to offer such a service.
As Raman Mittal envisions, “Our vision is to take India’s rich meditation heritage to the world. We are thrilled to see the widespread adoption and the growing demand for our app. It reinforces our belief that meditation can truly become a lifestyle for everyone.”
